Does this sound like your situation?
You applied for a UK Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa or a UK Working Visa with UK Visas & Immigration just before the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in all travel related shut downs. You did your Biometrics with VFS Global (the visa application centre) and handed your passport in. A month later, the world has been turned upside down and you still don't know if your visa has been approved and your passport is still with VFS Global. What do you do now, when you don't even know when you will be able to travel again?!
First of all, don't panic!
Rest assured that you are not the only visa applicant in this situation. Your visa application has been placed on hold for now and will be finalised, once business gets back to normal. Do not worry that there is something wrong with your application because you haven't heard anything. All the information that you provided digitally is protected - and so is your passport. Your passport is even stored securely with VFS Global in a fireproof safe!
Some UK VACs and Australian VACs will open on the 1st June 2020. All other VACs are still closed. To check if you VAC in your country is open please go to these websites:
Once the VACs re-open and your application can be processed again, the UKVI and VFS Global will contact you. Please do not go to the VAC until you have been advised that a decision has been made, and your passport is ready for collection.
