⇢ Are You Eligible for the UK Ancestry Dependent visa?

In order to qualify for the UK Ancestry Dependent visa for an Unmarried Partner, you must:

  • Prove that you and your partner have been in a relationship akin to marriage for a minimum of 2 years
  • Prove that any children are yours, and are under 17 years;
  • Be able to work in the UK;
  • Be able to support yourself (and any dependants) without the need to access public funds.

Mandatory Biometric Appointment

As part of the application process, UK Skilled Worker Dependant Visa applicants are required to participate in a mandatory biometric appointment which involves having your fingerprints and a photo taken at a visa application centre, or a Biometric Enrolment centre. This is a standard part of the process.

Please note that you may be required to pay an additional surcharge for your biometric appointment of £76.50.  This will depend on where you apply.


⇢ Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS)


All applicants will be provided with access to the National Health Service (NHS) for the duration of your visa. You will still need to pay for certain types of services such as prescriptions, dental treatment, eye test, and assisted conception. The immigration health surcharge is payable at the time of purchasing the UK Ancestry visa. You should take your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) when you access health care in the UK.

The mandatory UK Immigration Health Surcharge for this visa is £5175GBP.
For applicants under the age of 18 at the time of application the Immigration Health Surcharge for this visa is £3880GBP.

⇢ A Word of Warning
If you make one small (very) common mistake on your visa application or unknowingly fail to provide the correct supporting documentation, your application will be refused, and UKVI will not refund your visa fee. **All applicants are required to disclose any/all past criminal and/or serious traffic related offences and previous visa refusals for any country. Failure to disclose this information could lead to your application being rejected by the UK Visas and Immigration and could lead to a subsequent 10-year ban. Restless World cannot be held responsible for rejections or bans imposed by the UK Visas and Immigration on account of undisclosed information. If your visa application is rejected or denied based on a mistake made by Restless World staff, your original service fee will be refunded in full, and Restless World will pay for the cost of your re-application. Visa re-application is only applicable if we deem your application to be valid upon the correction of the original mistake made. In the event of an approved NV/NF re-application, we can only re-apply for the same visa as the original denied application (you cannot switch visa categories).
