Already in the UK on a Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa & not sure what to do when it expires?

Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa

So, you are already in the UK on a Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa and your having a great time and you want to stay! Unfortunately for those Australians, New Zealand and Canadians, you are unable to apply for another Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa. You only get to have this 2 year working holiday visa once in a life time... As you are on the Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa, you must depart the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) on or before the expiry date on your BRP Card.

We always recommend leaving the UK just before your expiry date, to make sure you are not breaching any immigration regulations. If you want to return to the UK after you have departed (you can depart to Australia, Spain, France for a few weeks - it doesn't matter where, as long as you leave the UK). You can come back to the UK as a tourist for 6 months or less, you can not work and the tourist visa is granted automatically upon arrival. You will need to show a departing flight/train or bus out of the UK inside 6 months. This means you can not arrive in the UK on a one way flight as you are a tourist and must show that you have the intention of leaving and understand that you can not work, you must go and tour around the United Kingdom.

The Tier 5 Youth Mobility visa does not allow any visa extensions and you can not switch to another visa inside the UK. If you are eligible for another UK Working Visa, for example, a Tier 2 Sponsorship Visa or Tier 4 Student Visa or even the Ancestry Visa (if you have a Grandparent born in the UK), you need to return to your country of residence (Australia, New Zealand or Canada) and apply for a new UK Working Visa in that country.

At Restless World, we understand if you need that new UK working visa pretty quickly and we can have this ready to go before you arrive back in your country of residence. So that all you need to do is walk into your Biometrics appointment as soon as you arrive and if you purchase the priority service with the UKVI you should have your passport and your new visa between 5-10 business days.
