Nick goes to Africa….
First it was Peru, next its Africa, as Nick takes the next step on his ‘Responsible Travel Tour’ around the World!
We will be sad to see Nick go, he has been a great member of the team, but we always knew this day would come and we couldn’t be more supportive of what he is about to do.
Just as he did in Peru, where, whilst on the Inca Trail, Nick stayed with local Villagers, volunteering his efforts to assist with painting the outside of a building and building an storage structure for waste materials, Nick plans to visit the town of Moshi in Tanzania. Motivated by his desire to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, Nick chose the town of Moshi for its proximity to ‘Kili’. Nick has been invited to stay at Kishu Mundu School, where he will work voluntarily for 5 weeks, splitting his time between the school, local orphanage and street children centre.
Nick will be heading over to Moshi in March and in the meantime he will be working hard to raise funds that he will give directly to the people and organisations when he arrives. If you would like to sponsor Nick’s climb to help him raise these much needed funds then check out his Facebook Group for more information about the trip and how you can get involved.
Inspired by Nick’s dedication and generosity and our own sense of responsibility, Restless’ new year’s resolution for 2010 is to give more to those less fortunate. We will be sponsoring Nick’s climb of Mount Kilimanjaro to make a contribution to the town of Moshi and in particular the children of the orphanage. We will also be coming up with other initiatives throughout the year and we will keep you posted on those.
