Like many hundreds of thousands of Aussies before her, at the tender age 21, Skye decided to put her studies on hold, save her money and leave the comforts of home to do the one thing her mother always told her she must do. Travel. She thought she would see a bit of Asia on the way over to the UK, using London as a base to explore Europe and be home in a year or two to finish her visual arts degree. Like many travellers’ best laid plans, Skye’s were soon forgotten as she found herself working in the fast-paced recruitment market and enjoying the London party scene. After almost 5 years, Skye returned to Sydney armed with a suspicious accent and a great CV, but not much European travel under belt. These days she is passionate about seeing people setting out on their own journey, knowing that whatever they have in mind, the reality will always be more than they can image. Drawing on her own experiences in London and her knowledge of the international recruitment market, Skye loves to share her insights in the hope of empowering people to get out there and make it happen. In addition to her contributions to Restless, Skye has her own executive research consulting business, is a qualified kundalini yoga teacher, mum to 3yr old Willow and still intends to one day, finally, graduate from Uni. Her most recent attempt has seen her almost complete a Bachelor of Arts (Media, Culture and Technology) at UNSW. She says it’s a good thing she believes in miracles!
